Miss Jenna is going to post later about her adventures at camp! I just wanted to post a fun picture of our BEAR SEARCH from earlier today. (We found a Grizzly Bear!) Tomorrow we're going to have TWO bear searches and one lead us to our Teddy Bears for the show! We also handed our cds of songs from the show. I'm sure all the campers would LOVE to show off what they learned in camp today. We stared learning our dance (to track three ;)) and they would love to show their SNEAKY moves to track one! -Alex

As the Office Assistant, I love my job SO much that I am at TrueNorth right now preparing for a great summer ahead. After finishing my school year in May, I am prepared for a CRAZY summer filled with theater (duh!) and 4 weddings! Yes, I said 4! My good friend from high school, my sister, and 2 cousins! I feel like I will be all wedding-ed out by July! Which is great because that will just in time for Beauty and the Beast! Since I've been at TrueNorth, I have met SO many great people and FRIENDS here. One of my best friends is actually Alex Arroyo! We met years ago when I was a student at a theater camp and HE was MY teacher! (Kinda weird, right?) Since then, we have stayed close and he introduced me to TrueNorth. So SHOUT OUT to Alex for getting me started! I have also met an AWESOME friend, Anne Chriszt (music assistant), here at TrueNorth. We met when I was the light and sound techie for Green Eggs and Ham. I think the reason we became such good friends is because she is FUN and BUBBLY just like me! I think one of the reasons I love performing and acting is because I'm not afraid to be myself. That is SO important because you can create amazing characters and objectives--(fancy word for what your purpose is on the stage). So when you first step foot on that stage, don't be afraid to be yourself and be dramatic:) We are going to have SUCH a fun summer! -Jenna THEATRE CAMP STAFF QUIZ Why TrueNorth Summer Theatre? I wanted a change this summer! I was always involved with another theatre camp, so I wanted to try something different! I also love that this theatre camp is in a nature center!! I'm excited to be outside all summer:) NYC or LA? NYC all the way!!! Because I WILL be on Broadway one day :) What is your favorite thing to do with friends? In the summer, I love laying out and swimming with my friends at my pool. I am also obsessed with Cedar Point! My friends and I usually go early in the morning and do not leave till dark! Its a blast!! What is something you've learned from theatre that you use in real life? Stage presence! When I perform in choir concerts, I've learned how to use the right posture and also how to breath correctly. What is the grossest thing you can think of? The smell of rotten flesh and rotten garbage! Ewww!! What is your favorite musical? (You can only pick ONE!) Ah I have so many! But I think my favorite would be....HAIRSPRAY! I've always wanted to be Tracy! Gale or Peeta? Hmm well I really like Gale better in the book, but in the movie I choose Peeta!! Blog post by: Alex Arroyo, Director of Camps We just met on our Overture and Spotlight Camps! (What a fun staff.) There's this ice breaker that we play at camp called THE GET-TO-KNOW-YOU BALL. We cover a beach ball with fun questions like "if you could have a super power what would you chose" or "name a person that inspires you". (I chose OPRAH.) Well, Chelsea, the acting assistant for camp had the question "what is your favorite quote"? I must admit that I'm not sure where the quote comes from or the first half of the quote but it ends with BRING YOUR OWN SUNSHINE. Susan, the co-director and music director of the Overture & Spotlight camps added... BYOS! (Click read more to... read more.) |
