Day three of camp started with guitars ringing in the lobby and campers dancing to the songs they have already learned. Ms. Susan led the campers into the theater where we all danced to her music with colorful scarves. Mr. Brian then lead everyone into creating animal statues followed by animal noises and animal movement in preparation for our Zoo song and choreography. Before the end of the day all the songs and dances were reviewed and we all shared good byes. Yesterday was a smorgasbord of fun for the campers! They are having so much fun and don't even realize all the theater skills that they are learning. We started off the morning with some imaginative stretching with Miss Elaine and then did a variety of activities with Brian to get everyone's mind turning. The kids and counselors played a fun game involving feathers and hula hoops, teaching them to problem solve and do multiple tasks at one time. Afterwards, we practiced mirroring Mr. Brian which teaches the kids to synchronization and focus. A flurry of activities followed! We read Green Eggs and Ham, learned the corresponding dance, and reviewed Catch a Falling Star! Whew! Everyone agreed that trying green eggs and ham is a lot of fun and we are looking forward to even more silliness and learning today! What a start! We made new friends, Connie pretended to be a cat that would eat us all up, Dana crooned us some Perry Como and a whole lot more! Preparing for our roles as Sneetches we made our own stars, and we apologize for any extant glitter that comes home with you! Looking forward to another great day!
