Yeah, that's a motto from a television series that aired a few years back, but I think it's applicable in many circumstances, and certainly for us today. We are a mere three days away from what will be the culmination of four-plus weeks of work, preparation and effort; in the homestretch it is more important than ever to tackle the challenge ahead of us with clear eyes and full hearts. Believe me: these kids are doing just that.
Yesterday began the arduous process known as "tech" wherein we add all the technical elements (i.e. lights, sound, large set pieces/props) to the performance. It is an oft-maligned day because of its penchant for being frustrating and exhausting - not ours. I started the day sitting on pins & needles worried for disaster to strike at any moment, but left here elated at how well everything had proceeded, due in large part to the cooperation and professionalism of these campers. *UPDATE* Today was fantastic as well.
