Hey folks! Shaun here, giving you the first blog post from the 2016 Center Stage Camp and Bye Bye Birdie! We had many workshops and activities today, so I took a few pictures so you could see what was going on throughout our day. It seems like we have a great group of campers this year and we are so looking forward to the work over the next five weeks! Of course before we could get to any of the fun stuff for the day, we had to lay down a few ground rules for the next five weeks (above). Campers, please remember to bring back your signed contracts tomorrow! Before we separated into our workshop groups, we got the chance to play a great game called Captain on Deck (below). For our first workshop, our choreographer, Connie, taught us how to survive a dance audition. As an example, she taught the campers the choreography for the song "Space Jam" (above), which might look familiar from out Spotlight Camp earlier this summer. Below, you can see campers Brandon, Connor, and Jason sharpening their dance skills! In our other workshops today, Dana gave the campers a nice chunk of background information about the show they'll be auditioning for tomorrow, Bye Bye Birdie. Brian, in the meantime, helped us all out by covering the dos and don'ts of reading in an audition. I snagged a shot of this workshop (above), and it looks like Giovanna and Dylan caught me! (Below) you can see Dominic testing out his audition skills for Brian and the rest of the campers in his workshop group. Oh, and everyone, here is Elaine! The newest member of the Camp Staff here at TNCA this summer. She probably didn't know this photo was blog-bound when it was being taken :-p.
