Here is the plan for Sunday & Monday. Please bear in mind that neither of these things are mandatory for campers to attend, but definitely encouraged to. If your camper for sure is not able to attend either event, please let me know so we can plan accordingly.
SUNDAY EVENING After the 3pm performance of Seussical here at French Creek, there is a 7:30pm concert at Lakeview Park called Music Under the Stars. The first half of the concert (7:30-8:30) is titled the TrueNorth Youth Musical Showcase. We will be featuring excerpts of the final performances of the previous two theatre camps, and then invite Center Stage camp onstage to perform selections from Suessical. Immediately following that, a reggae band called Gato’s Gullah Gumbo will perform until 9:30pm or so. I would ask that campers planning on performing/attending be at the park by 7pm. MONDAY Campers show up at 10am here at French Creek to help strike the set, put away props/costumes, and other wrap-up duties. After everything is settled here, we will hike (about a 20 min walk) to the Pine Tree Picnic area on the other side of the reservation, and have a cookout/cast party at Shelter #1 (the one closer to the giant parking lot). At 3pm, we ask that you show up at Pine Tree to pick your camper up. For the cookout/party, campers are welcome to bring side dishes, beverages, and/or outdoor games, which will be driven out to the shelter and looked after while the campers hike there. The link below is a map of the French Creek reservation – to get to Pine Tree, you simple make three rights or three lefts out of this building. http://www.metroparks.cc/trailmaps/fcrtrail.pdf?d=20130606 Looking forward to a great weekend celebrating all that we have accomplished.
