Today we worked super hard cleaning up our show for our audience tomorrow! It's going to be so fun! We even decorated our capes and worked with props and masks! Tomorrow after the show, we're having a reception with punch and cookies and fun for us and our audience! We worked so hard on our show these last couple weeks...and it all comes down to this!!! We'll defeat the Huns, learn a lesson, go the distance, and bring Mister Reese and Micey Dice to justice all in one day! PWHEW! I NEED A HERO!

We sure learned a lesson when we had superstar leader Ryan sit with Mr. Brian! He is always so on top, knowing every word and dance move, so we wanted to make sure we could do it without him! And we did! Today we finished blocking the show and worked on our songs! We even learned a new rendition of "Go the Distance" from Hercules! We worked so fast that it took us less than a half an hour to learn all the words and the dance WITHOUT having Miss Maggie dance with us! Super Learner skills: activate! Sneak Peak : "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from yesterday's rehearsal!Today we worked on "I'll Make a Man Out of You" and did a "stumble through" of our show!
I think when everyone sees our set, they are going to love it! We also played "Keeper of the Keys" which meant we had to be super quiet an sneaky so we didn't get caught!
See you next time!
We did a lot of rehearsing for "Lesson Number One" and it was a perfect way to set an example for the theme of today! "One alone is not enough, You need both together... Today we talked all about KINDNESS! We made "compliment webs" with yarn by complimenting each other and holding on as we tossed the string! It's easy to find things you like about a person when you aren't focusing on the negatives!
Last, we were initiated into the LEAGUE OF SUPERHEROES atop the sacred Green Lantern comic book! We were presented with our capes and officially became our superhero! Our pieces are looking great and we can't wait to dig into the script next week!
Today was the very first day of our Superhero Camp and it was a blast! The day began by playing a few games we used to get to know the campers' names. With twenty-two superheroes, it shouldn't take the counselors very long to learn them all! Later on, Miss Susan led everyone in a discussion about what the campers could try to fix in the world, using their very own superpowers! We had snack time and then began to work on our show for next Friday. The girls seemed to enjoy learning the first half of their dance for "I'll Make a Man Out of You," and the boys had fun singing "Lesson Number One." If the campers are this good now, I can't wait to see their performance after two whole weeks of rehearsal! Finally, the day ended with some Superhero Training; in order to become a superhero, there are five traits that you must have! Today's trait was wisdom. The brilliant campers got untangled from a Human Knot, and many succeeded in the Back to Back game as well. Mr. Alex left everyone with a riddle to solve:
"Until I am measured, I am not known. Yet you miss me when I've flown. What am I?" We can't wait to see which of our campers has the wisdom to solve that! Think about the superhero you'd like to be and we'll see everyone tomorrow!
That's all for today! See you next time!
