The kids worked super hard today on Junie B. Jones! They almost blocked the whole entire show!! Tomorrow we will continue blocking the show and then start out first run! Just a reminder we open in a little over a week! Please keep working to be off book by Monday! Also parents, we are asking the kids to bring in their own book-bag to use during the show and their own “show and tell” item (no bigger than a shoe). If someone also could bring in a lunchbox for us to use as well that would be great!
Riddle of the Day: Many have heard me, but no one has seen me, and I will only speak back if spoken to. What am I? Also here are some ways to help you guys get off book! * Write your lines over and over again * Go over them with your parents * Use a line learning app! (Line Learner was the one that was suggested today!) * Make them into a song! Hope these help! Great work again! Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow!

We had a very productive day at camp today! They kept working on the composition book backdrop in visual arts. We also started on some solo work and finished working on some big numbers from the show. They also learned the dance "Lucille, Camille, Chenille"!! The kids are working very hard and are making huge progress on the show! Just a friendly reminder the show opens in 10 days!!! Please start getting off book (memorizing your script)!!! The date to be off book by is June 25, this coming Monday! It will be very beneficial to the process of this show!! Make sure to drink your water and wash your hands to stay healthy! We don't want you to get sick at all during this show! It is never fun to feel under the weather!!! Also bring a healthy snack! Don’t always eat chips or cookies! Remember an apple or yogurt is always a good yummy option!!! Great work today guys!!! This week we made a lot of progress in setting up the musical. The kids auditioned, were cast, and production was underway. Right away we jumped into the opening number’s choreography, began laying out the blocking, and made some awesome art to add to the scene. The kids are working so hard, the staff is very proud of all of their efforts. One of the challenges for this show is that it is a lot of singing and dances for a short period of time but we are confident that everyone can do it! Please remember to keep going over your lines, practicing your choreography, and singing out loud and proud! Campers, Start thinking about your props and costumes, and please ask questions if you are unsure about anything. Hello everyone!! Our second day of rehearsals went by so fast! During class time we reviewed our pieces for our auditions and started painting the set pieces!
Our cast list will be announced tomorrow during camp! **Remember that for dance you have to be wearing socks or dance shoes!** The riddle of the day is... What letter of the alphabet has the most water?? See you all again tomorrow! -Abbie Garrison
Hi everyone! I'm Abby Golden, one of the camp counselors here at TNCA Junie B. Jones summer camp! On this page you can expect daily updates on what is going on and pictures of your children during camp! All of us at camp want to welcome you and hope you had an amazing first day at summer camp! We sure did! We loved getting to know you guys and can't wait to learn more about you! Today, we taught the kids a song and dance to Top Secret Personal Beeswax to be used at auditions tomorrow! Make sure your kids are reviewing the material taught today! They started to prep set pieces. We are using cubes for out main set element and the kids helped prime them in preparation for the final painted design! Make sure you try to figure out the daily riddle today! It is: What gets wetter as it dries? Also Kelcie don't forget to bring in your show and tell item tomorrow along with three clues about it! We are asking the kids to wear clothes appropriate for movement for all of camp along with bringing in a three ring binder to put their scripts in! Please also bring a pencil to take notes with, water to stay hydrated and a snack for down time! See you all tomorrow! Today was the FINAL DAY of rehearsal before the official opening performance of the production! We can't believe how fast this camp went by. It has been a wonderful 5 weeks and we can't wait to show all our hard work in the show tomorrow! :) Today we walked over t the Emerald Event Center to see the space where our final performance will take place. Only 3 days until our first performance! :)
The last week of camp has finally arrived! This entire week is devoted to running through the show as many times as possible to polish the final production (which is only 5 days away!)
